<\/p>\nIn \u2018n hartseer tyd van konflik, naby aan die oostelike grens tussen Rusland en die Oekra\u00efne, poog FEBC om hoop in die harte van diegene te plaas wat deur die oorlog geraak word. FEBC saai uit in vyf streke binne hierdie konfliksone en het onlangs \u2018n splinternuwe stasie in Pokrovsk gestig. Een van die pastore in di\u00e9 dorp het die volgende opmerking gemaak; \u201cEk is so bly dat FEBC uiteindelik hier by ons is. Die mense wat oorlog, verraad en onstabiliteit op soveel vlakke ervaar het, is honger vir die waarheid. Op \u2018n vreemde manier het die oorlog vir ons \u2018n se\u00ebn geword. So baie mense is opsoek na antwoorde.\u201d<\/p>\n
As gevolg van \u2018n vlootbotsing tussen Rusland en die Oekra\u00efne het die president van die Oekra\u00efne aan die einde van 2018 \u2018n krygswet in 10 streke, vir \u2018n tydperk van 30 dae, afgedwing. Gedurende hierdie tyd is alle evangeliese kerke in die rebel-beheerde gebiede verbied. Dit het daartoe gelei dat FEBC hul sender moes verskuif sodat hul daardie gebiede kon bereik. Al is die krygswet net vir \u2018n kort tydperk toegepas, is mense steeds bekommerd oor hul veiligheid en stabiliteit.<\/p>\n
Meeste van die mense aan beide kante van die konflik word nie net ekonomies benadeel nie, maar word ook sielkundig en geestelik be\u00efnvloed. Die vooruitsig van \u2018n onsekere toekoms het gelei tot die styging van moord en selfmoord, honderde milit\u00eare slagoffers, alkoholisme en die misbruik van dwelms.<\/p>\n
FEBC vertroos luisteraars deur die boodskap van hoop, wat in Jesus Christus gevind word, uit te saai. Hul doen dit deur berading te bied aan die kwesbaarste mense en hulle fokus daarop om sterk verhoudings met hul luisteraars te ontwikkel.<\/p>\n
Tans is daar twee sendelinge wat FEBC in hierdie oorlogsone bedien. Hulle werk met benadeelde kinders. Hulle re\u00ebl ook dikwels kinderkampe. Sommige van die kinders wat hierdie kampe bywoon is weeskinders en ander kom uit gesinne waar die ouers alkoholiste is. Die laaste kamp wat gehou is, was by die FEBC stasie in Shastya, waar hulle 250 kinders bedien het. Baie van die kinders wat di\u00e9 kampe bywoon, gee hul lewens vir die Here.<\/p>\n
Die mense wat in hierdie gebiede woon het u gebede baie nodig. Baie van hulle luister na FEBC om antwoorde te vind. Ons moedig u aan om ernstig te bid vir FEBC se luisteraars wat in die oorlogsone woon.<\/p>\n

During a time of sorrow and plight on the eastern border between Russia and the Ukraine, FEBC seeks to instil hope in the hearts of those being affected by the war. FEBC broadcasts into five regions within the conflict zone and recently launched a brand new station in Pokrovsk. One of the pastors in this town made the following remark; \u201cI am so glad FEBC is finally here. People who have experienced war, betrayal, and instability on so many levels are hungry for the truth. In a strange and painful way, the war became a blessing for us. So many people are looking for answers now.\u201d<\/p>\n
At the end of 2018, the president of the Ukraine imposed martial law on 10 regions for a period that lasted 30 days, following a naval conflict with Russia. During this period, all evangelical churches were outlawed in rebel-controlled areas. This led to FEBC having to relocate their transmitter so that they could reach those areas. Although the enforcement of martial law was somewhat brief, civilians remain concerned for their safety and desperately seek stability.<\/p>\n
Most people on both sides of the conflict are not only suffering economically, but also psychologically and spiritually. The prospect of an uncertain future has led to the escalation of homicides and suicides, hundreds of military casualties, heavy drinking and drug abuse.<\/p>\n
FEBC comforts listeners by broadcasting the message of hope that is found in Jesus Christ. They do this through counselling the most vulnerable and they focus on developing a strong relationship with their listeners.<\/p>\n
Currently there are two missionaries serving FEBC in this war zone, who are working with disadvantaged children. They regularly organise camps for children. Some are orphans and others come from families where the parents are alcoholics. The most recent camp was held at FEBC\u2019s station in Shastya, where they ministered to 250 children. Many of the children attending the camps give their lives to Christ.<\/p>\n
The people in these areas are in desperate need of your prayers and many will be listening to FEBC to find answers. We urge you to continue to pray for FEBC\u2019s listeners living in this war zone.<\/p>\n
