NUWE STASIE IN TALAS, KIRGISIË

NEW STATION IN TALAS, KYRGYZSTAN

On top of a mountain overlooking the city of Talas and its neighbouring towns, FEBC Kyrgyzstan’s fourth station stands tall. After receiving a new licence from the government in 2017, construction of the station and installation of the transmitter began. Talas is the largest city in the northwest of Kyrgyzstan and is an important regional hub. By setting up the antennae on the mountains outside the city, the station has the potential to reach an audience of 250,000 people. Talas is approximately 241 km from the capital of Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek and 483 km away from Toktogul. The signal of this transmitter is so powerful that it can be heard all the way in Toktogul – reaching all the other small towns in between.

Heavy snowfall made it difficult to complete the entire construction and installation that started in November 2017; however a new relay station is set to be launched in the coming months, when the roads will be easier to traverse.

The majority of the population is culturally Muslim, yet the people have been so accepting of the gospel message, with the station receiving many messages of how their lives have changed since they started listening to FEBC’s broadcasts. FEBC plans to establish a fifth station in one of the two cities where FEBC is not currently heard on the air. This is all part of a broader strategic plan to reach the entire country with the gospel. With only six stations this will be possible. So far they have managed to establish a new station every year, for the past four years. Please pray for their plans to establish another new station within this year.

God has already shown FEBC/FEBA so much favour and we can’t wait to see how He will continue to bless this ministry. We urge you to continue to pray for FEBC Kyrgyzstan and their strategic plan to reach the nation’s entire population with the gospel message, by the year 2020
