North Korea – WEEKLY SUMMARY: North Korea is one of the most repressive countries in the world. Kim Jong-un who is now in his seventh year of power, serves as chairman of the State Affairs Commission and is head of the ruling Workers’ Party of Korea. He exercises almost total political control over the country. The government restricts all civil and political liberties, as well as freedom of expression, assembly, association, and religion.
