Radio Nuru (Mozambique) – WEEKLY SUMMARY: Macomia, where Radio Nuru is situated and its surrounding villages, have been subject to violent rebel attacks for several months. Houses are being burnt down, together with shops, vehicles and food. Many have also been killed. Radio Nuru’s recently established listener clubs are also situated in the areas where there have been multiple attacks. These attacks have caused widespread fear in northern Mozambique, causing many to hide outside villages, in bushes, and gather together in big groups to avoid being attacked in their homes.
