Family is a gift. A godly family creates a strong biblical foundation that allows its members to stand firm against the world’s onslaughts, and it provides a haven where they learn about God’s unconditional love and acceptance through parents’ and grandparents’ example.

However, many families the world over struggle in their relationships. In some cases, conflict is caused by external factors, such as poverty, addiction, and abuse; in others, intentions are good, but knowledge is lacking. One listener admitted to FEBA Cambodia, “Because of my busy life, I never have enough time for my family, so I have a lot to learn about raising a family and setting a good example for the community.”

FEBA is passionate about helping their listeners to enjoy healthy family relationships.

Model Family

“Certain aspects of being a wife, a mother, and a responsible individual in the family will always be challenging,” a listener told FEBA Cambodia. “I feel tired and empty sometimes. By listening to Krusa FM’s Comfort at Night program, I was able to find peace and relief from anxiety because of God’s love.”

FEBA Cambodia’s Krusa FM, also known as Family FM, has many listeners from abusive households, especially in rural areas. Radio is often the only medium through which the team can offer regular guidance and encouragement to people in these places.

Its family seminars have also proven a rousing success. They are held in villages and cities, conducted by local pastors and organisations in partnership with FEBA, and welcome the entire family. Each one is centred on the theme of “Living as a Model Christian Family”. Attendees learn about the roles of husbands and wives, receive counselling, and learn about family planning. One attendee said: “This is my first time at a Krusa FM seminar … I received a lot of knowledge about raising kids, forgiving others, and the life of families. My spouse and I have decided to improve by implementing God’s Word and allowing Him to correct our weaknesses.”

Focusing on the Family

FEBA Malawi’s Focus on the Family program aims to mend the many relationships that struggle due to poor communication, different beliefs or cultures, economic obstacles, and a lack of knowledge when it comes to family health.

The program covers a wide array of topics that address both marriage and family life: male and female roles in relationships, intimacy, what it means to lay down one’s life, God’s gifts for the family, spiritual growth in a family, and many more. Some episodes feature a roundtable discussion between family members about issues they are facing, and these episodes are especially popular with listeners.

One couple’s testimony illustrates the transformative power of FEBA’s message. Their struggle to have children was causing marital problems. “Then one day I heard the Focus on the Family program, which hit the nail right on the head,” the wife shared. “This program gave us the right medicine for our family. We used the presenter’s advice [and] had our first child, which to us was a big gift from God.”
